The PANGenS project investigates the genomic epidemiology of tuberculosis, malaria and emerging and re-emerging pathogens in Africa to better understand disease etiology, the dynamics of disease transmission, and the evolution of drug resistance. A collaborative consortium of 13 partners in Europe and in sub-Saharan Africa will increase Africa’s capacity in bioinformatics, genomics, and biobanking, and will promote data sharing.
At the Leibniz Institute DSMZ, our task is to implement customised databases for pathogen genome sequences and associated metadata, based on the EnteroBase platform:

First in-person meeting at the Noguchi Memorial institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), University of Ghana, 16th January 2024
PANGenS is funded by EDCTP3 and supported by the European Union.
