About this project
In the upcoming funding period, the four former TIs Pathogen Repository, Bioinformatics, Epidemiology and Biobanking will join to establish the integrated TI Bioresources, Biodata and Digital Health (TI BBD). The mission of the TI BBD is to provide high-quality biomaterials, state-of-the-art data, and informatic services in a coordinated and easily accessible way to all DZIF members and to external partners, e.g. other DZG.
The availability of quality controlled, characterized and well documented microorganisms is the basis for the reproducibility and harmonization of translational research within DZIF. The Pathogen Repository coordinates the biobanking of bacterial bioresources, its task is to be a safe source of quality controlled microbial pathogens, the corresponding typing and sequencing services and strain-associated phenotypic metadata.
