About this project
NFDI4Biodiversity is a network of around 50 actors who have one thing in common: collecting and working with biodiversity data. In addition to research institutions, the consortium’s partners include associations, natural history societies, state offices, civil society initiatives and other institutions from the field of nature conservation. The aim is to develop a joint approach to making biodiversity data available for research and practice. Biodiversity here means more than just the recording of the diversity of species; it includes genotypic, phenotypic and functional diversity as well as interaction of species, populations and ecosystems. Accordingly, there is a wide range of data that needs to be made accessible in order to be able to answer the urgent questions about changes in the environment.
