The SILVA team creates, curates, and operates high-quality ribosomal RNA databases and its associated services. We provide taxonomy and curation expertise for rRNA sequences as well as software development expertise for systems handling of millions of nucleotide sequences. The SILVA datasets will be an integral part of microbial ecology and microbiome applications of the DSMZ Digital Diversity platform. Our skills and technology will be used to add additional marker genes to the platform.
